I'll tell you what they said that really set me off...
One guy was going to sing "GREENBACK DOLLAR" and he had to say, (paraphrase)...When this song was popular, many of the AM STATIONS wouldn't play this song. Naturally, the inference was, even back then, AM radio was all Right Wing.
What he failed to mention was that AM was about the only radio we had back then. That didn't stop his tirade, as he continued his sermon, with vicious berating of angry protest against his country. He was spewing the same old garbage they did in the 60's, and we're paying for his political message?
Personally, I heard it on the radio on all stations, so I have no idea what he was talking about...
PBS should be eliminated..we don't need it any more..It served a purpose when TV was new and we had few stations, now it is strictly a democrap controlled station, and WE have to pick up the tab.
GREENBACK DOLLAR (Written by Hoyt Axton and Ken Ramsey)
Some people say I'm a no-'count Others say I'm no good But I'm just a natural-born travelin' man Doin' what I think I should, oh yeah Doin' what I think I should
Refrain: And I don't give a damn about a greenback-a dollar Spend it fast as I can For a wailin' song and a good guitar The only things that I understand, poor boy The only things that I understand
When I was a little baby My mama said "Hey son," "Travel where you will and grow to be a man and sing what must be sung, poor boy" Sing what must be sung
Refrain
Now that I'm a grown man I've traveled here and there I've learned that a bottle of brandy and a song The only ones who ever care, poor boy The only ones who ever care
Refrain
Some people say I'm a no-'count Others say I'm no good But I'm just a natural-born travelin' man Doin' what I think I should, oh yeah Doin' what I think I should
Refrain: And I don't give a damn about a greenback-a dollar Spend it fast as I can For a wailin' song and a good guitar The only things that I understand, poor boy The only things that I understand The only things that I understand, poor boy The only things that I understand |
