Ted, Its looking more and more like it was Bill Clinton who made the deficits go away.

So in the Federal government, it was the executive branch that both created the deficits (Reagan, I suppose you'll say), helped them go away (Clinton), then recreated them (Bush).

Uh huh!

But in California state government, it was the legislature all the time, and Davis can't really be faulted for the $38B deficit.

I didn't exclude Davis........I said he shares the blame. But who's really at fault are Californians. Californians have been making bad choices for years but they have been consistent with one thing and one thing only........their hands are always out for a little more cash, dinero, moola, the almighty buck. And the people in Sacramento reflect Californians in general.

I've said it before.........a year ago, the CA GOP had a choice between Riordan and Simons, a competent vs a crook........they picked the crook to run against Davis. Why? Because they knew Simons would play the game and wouldn't upset the apple cart. Riordan is a maverick......a do gooder who can't be trusted to play the game. Californians hate people like that.

No, this is all the fault of Californians and they're making Davis the fall guy by having a $70 million recall. It a joke........and they're about to elect a nice guy who doesn't have a clue how to run state gov't......which, of course, is perfect. They won't have to worry that he will upset the game.

Eventually, CA will come out of recession; there will be more revenues and the game will continue as it has for a hundred years. The problem is.........at some point, someone or something will call 'game' and then the jig will be up! You best hope its not soon! ;~)
