Does anyone, besides me, find it ironic that Vietnam veteran (as if you didn’t know that already), John Kerry, the candidate accused of looking French, chose to set up his Iowa campaign headquarters in an old import car dealership? The old Dave Ostrem Imports in Des Moines, where Kerry chose to pitch his tent, is now in a new location and under a new name, European Motor Cars. If this were truly poetic justice, Kerry would have found himself in the remnants of an old Renault dealership.

While I’m surprised that Kerry chose this location, it’s not anywhere near the Harley dealer and the nearest salon is miles away, it does seem quite fitting. John Kerry reminds me of a pompous import car salesman, ready to be your friend and ready to sell you that fine European sports car. But, when he finds out you’re not interested he casts you aside like the Kennedy’s cast aside women.

Personally, I wonder if the Kerry campaign staff puts serious thought into anything they do. Serious thought, from these guys, not likely. Regardless, I took the liberty of capturing the Kerry headquarters in digital bliss for all to enjoy.
