Carl, good luck on your run for governor. I've read your posted views and agree with some of them. Especially the indian casinos which should be a source of income for the state.

At the risk of sounding cracked I'd like to offer a suggestion on how to seriously increase the states revenue without raising taxes. Push for the legalization of Marijuana. Not only would it give the state a new source of income (you could literally tax the hell out of sales) it would also alleviate the other problem with our prisons since growing a pot plant will land you a year in jail in this state. Think of the money that flows out of this country because of the prohibition on pot and the organized crime cartels that benefit from it. What's the difference between pot and alcohol? The only true difference is one is socially acceptable and the other isn't. Both are harmful if done to excess. In all actuality I believe that pot is less harmful than alcohol physically and socially. Liquor tends to bring out violent emotions in many people. I've never seen that happen with pot. I could ramble on forever about why pot should be legalized but I'll let it for now and leave you with this thought, guess what the largest cash crop in Kentucky is.......you guessed it, marijuana and it's not being grown by a bunch of hippies it's being grown by farmers that are being pushed out of the tobacco business.

One major problem that you haven't addressed is the states power problems. This problem was directly caused by environmentalists lobbying against it. Now don't get me wrong, I believe in protecting our natural resources, but when it comes to voting down a power plant or building a factory in order to save a species that's so challenged it would make Darwin cry, I think we've gone to far.
