Jlallen, all of our minds work differently. I rarely take the word of anyone, on anything, if they can't tell me their reasoning and convince me of the logical basis for their conclusions. That trait kept me and a few others alive a few decades ago and it has stood me in good stead for all of my life. When I say that there was no wmd threat, and that the emerging evidence of the "then" state of intelligence did not support a conclusion that there was such a threat, I'm not saying that there was "no" evidence. I'm simply saying that there was not enough evidence to make me believe in the truth of the threat.

One thing that is now clear, however, is that the "evidence" was exaggerated, misrepresented and presented in a one-sided fashion by those that wanted to justify the invasion of Iraq.

The psychological study on the conservative thinker, cited here earlier, may explain why different minds can view the same evidence and come to different conclusions. I will post my next post on that issue.
