I don't think so. I think CA bonds are a good deal, IMHO. The issues with the budget were one-offs, in my view: the tremendous impact of the bubble here, and the Greatest Burglary In The History of the US (the Enron et al energy scam).

Although heaven knows when we will fully recover, there is nothing that I can see systemic that would cause further damage. I don't think the gov has that much impact on normal day-to-day economics. The Davis/energy disaster was partly his problem, partly his fault for being a Democrat (and thus, could expect no help or assistance from the Bush administration).

So, the bonds may not skyrocket, but they will provide a good yield and further value in the future. All IMHO (no investment advice being given here! :)
