Tibet was no threat to China. They took it because they wanted it and they could. The Han Chinese look at the Tibetans the way 19th century Americans looked at the Sioux. The Tibetans are being 'civilized' Chinese-style.

The Israelis got the West Bank when they won the Six Day War which was a defensive war. They kept it when they won the Yom Kippur War, which was also a defensive war. The Arabs were & are a threat to them, and holding the territory keeps Israel from being 9 miles wide. They offered most of it back several times & got a NO each time.

The Palestinians have also been treated gently compared to the Tibetans, who have been repressed with great bloodshed whenever they have demonstrated. And the Tibetans didn't even come up with the bright idea of blowing up buses, either! Oh yeah, they're Buddhists, they don't believe in killing people for Allah.

But unfortunately for them, their oppressors are Chinese and not Jews, so nobody gives a damn.
