Well, at least you two didn't bring up swastika's in your little demonizationfest over a distorted quote falsely attributed out of context to Rumsfield. You said.....
"Isn't that Rumsfeld's line? Absense of evidence is proof.... & "Yes, when I heard Rumsfeld spewing that, all I could think of was George Orwell. Absence of evidence is proof.... that could have come right from 'Animal Farm.'"
& X the Unknown replied to your distorted attribution....
"you are so right"
Plus she also said herself....
"Absence of evidence is proof? That's an interesting line to take. I hope that never shows up in American courts. With that kind of logic all the innocent could be sent to prison."
BTW Scott & X, you could at least quote Rumsfeld accurately, then draw reasonable conclusions. However, I can see why so many of you folks have no problems doing exactly what the media has been doing to the Bush Administration. Your hate for the Bush Administration runs so deep that you won't even bother to check facts before you project your bias onto someone (like Rumsfeld). You're so convinced the man is evil that you & X matter of factly projected utter bullshit onto Rumsfeld & glibly demonized him as though it was all true & accurate.
Hell, both of you two began this sci-fi odyssey by delibrately misquoting jlallen before you demonized him. He essentially said that absence of proof is evidence that the Bush Administration didn't lie & that they believed in their intelligence on WMD's (the smoking gun being the missing proof - there exists substantial evidence, just no clear, irrefutable smoking gun type of proof).
And before you argue the existance of WMD evidence, jlallen certainly believes this to be fact. So yes, you also distorted jlallen's words, demonized him, then moved on to falsely attribute words to Rumsfeld, then demonized him too.
It's no wonder that when the media distorts the words of Bush, Rumsfeld, etc., or tells outright lies about them, you take it as gospel.
And I doubt you will admit how absolutely spot on I am about what you two have just done to Rumsfeld & jlallen either.
Here's precisely what Rumsfeld actually said regarding the search for WMD's thus far......
'' Rumsfeld said Tuesday. ``But as we all know, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.''
