This is an example of Bush stating that he had full confidence, or no doubts of his own, not that no one any where had "no doubts."

You might want to make a case for him lacking in due diligence but I do no see proof of intent to deceive in this example.

Regarding the Al Quaida connection. Al Quaida was a broad, loosely organized movement for many years. OBL rose to the top of the organization as a representative but did not necessarily have full cooperation from all spheres even at the time of the Afganistan crisis. In earlier years Al Quaida efforts were being organized by very disconnected leaders including some in the USA. It is entirely believable that some organizational efforts and training efforts have existed in Iraq, and that they were encouraged by Saddam. Saddam would never allow OBL to take over as the new Kalifa (OBLs goal), and OBL would never allow a corrupt sell out like Saddam to rule over him or his organization.

Its not as simple as you present it. Bush may very well have been pushed or influenced in his thinking. He has advisors that are supposed to be doing that sort of thing. Forty scholars from the left and forty scholars from the right who who do nothing but study study this situation, will not give you one answer on the truth behind the issues you present, even after all this hind site. It just seems wrong then to declare Bush a liar, without substantial proof that confirms he intended to deceive us.
