The Jews of Israel who would like to "clear out the land" have been hampered by international scrutiny, and by the fact that they don't want to lose American aid

If that was all that was hampering them, they would have cleared out the land already. The fact that is really hampering them is that they are a small minority of the population in a democratic society. So the real question is, why are they a small minority instead of an overwhelming majority, as they would be in another country in Israel's situation?
