I never understood what the problem is with able bodied people continuing to work past the arbitrary "retirement age". The whole idea forcing old people to scrap heap is a new idea, and it is a bad idea.

I guess the answer depends on what defines your life. If bagging groceries is it, then it is a choice you have. Don't try to pass it as a social issue. No one forces us to retire at 65, but no one should take that choice away from us.

Just think about this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if a way was found to extend life of an average American by, say 5 years, instantly? I (or any normal person) would say "great". But with the nonsense called Social Security, it would mean bankruptcy for the country.

Yes...let's all concentrate real hard at the same time...maybe we can wish it to be so.

Think about this: Health of Social Security depends on sickness and death of old people.

Money makes people say the damnest things.
