what motive Saddam had to destroy or hide the WMDs rather than use them is clearer each day on this thread: to make Bush look bad. He is hiding out, having his loyalists attack our troops, and helping to create political embarrassments for the President having his loyalists attack our troops, clearly yes, but embarrass Bush, no; I don't think Saddam understands American politics well enough to conceive of such an idea. I don't think he has any idea beyond turning Iraq into another Somalia. It will be very interesting to figure out what happened to the WMDs and why.
