If this has been answered already, sorry -- I had over 400 messages since I last checked the thread, and frankly decided not to try to check them all out.

I recall from somewhere that Norton AntiVirus only posts its updates for Live Update once a week, as I recall on Tuesday or Wednesday, so if they find a virus on a Thursday and post an update even if you check Live Update every day, you won't get the new file until the following week.

But I also recall that there is a mechanism for getting the updates more immediately not using Live Update but going straight to the Symantec site.

I can't find a discussion of this anywhere in the AV manual or on their site.

Does anybody know:

1. Is this still true, or is Live Update now able to update fully whenever you run it?

2. If not, how does one go about getting the more current definitions? With stuff coming out almost daily, a delay of a week could be fatal!

TIA for any help.
