I agree that the Taliban are Afghans, but not that Afghans are Taliban.

Although Osama has long term plans, as you say, I can't agree that it speaks to his looking any further ahead than I do.

Whether Osama is successful in inciting a misplaced jihad might actually depend on our own political leadership over the coming decade -- and whether we confront murderous fanatics, or appease them.
