We have made life miserable for the Iraqis for over a decade. I know life was hard for them under Saddam Insane (although we certainly didn't care for their plight when Saddam was our ally in the 1980s), but we didn't make things any easier for them by destroying their water and electric infrastructure in the first Gulf War and by maintaining cruel sanctions that prevented them from recovering from the war. The British/American relationship with Iraq will go down in history as one of the saddest chapters in a long standing tradition of cruel imperialism towards the people of the 3rd world.
