Scott, the average American also misses the date to pay off all that zero % debt and ends up paying mile high rates ex post facto. It's a nice scam if you are good at keeping your records straight.

BTW, the reason credit card debt is low is the refinancing of home equity. That's over. Meanwhile, the states and localities are loaded with debt, Bush is running our national credit card, mostly with variable rate short term credit, the consumer is swamped with debt and we require 85% of the world's savings to fund our double deficit.
