I see. And here is what you claimed were Rumsfeld's alleged sinister words that Scott & X twisted & distorted into "absence of evidence is PROOF"...... regarding the existence of WMD's......
<font color=blue>"The fact that the inspectors have not yet come up with new evidence of Iraq's WMD program <font size=4>could be<font size=3> evidence, in and of itself, of Iraq's noncooperation," Rumsfeld said. "We do know that Iraq has designed its programs in a way that they can proceed in an environment of inspections and that they are skilled at denial and deception." <font color=black>

Now let's look at the Headline that CNN gave to this very subject.....
<font size=4>Rumsfeld: Lack of evidence could mean Iraq's hiding something<font size=3>
cnn.com
Now I strongly suggest that you read the whole article to understand the context of Rumsfeld's one comment.
Again, no matter how hard you folks try, the evidence is clear. Scott & X twisted & distorted Rumsfeld's words, then maliciously attacked him with their own false attributions.
There is absolutely no evidence anywhere of other similar Rumsfeld comments. I have searched (including an extensive Google search), you have tried in vain, & nothing has been provided by Scott or X that has any verbatim comment by Donald Rumsfeld that could reasonably be paraphrased into "Absence of evidence IS PROOF of....." as Scott & X did.
There are several verbatim quotes by Rumsfeld that include, "absence of evidence" & "not yet come up with new evidence", yet nothing else reported anywhere that caught the eye of any liberal journalist or even a liberal blogger, but both Scott & X saw it. Not only that, but they were so taken back that they had to repeatedly comment on it, call it Orwellian, straight from Animal Farm & openly malign Rumsfeld with these allegedly sinister words.
Meanwhile, no one anywhere in the media or even an ultra- liberal blog, saw this alleged publicly broadcasted media event & no one came away with the same conclusion that Scott & X came to???? That defies credibility. We are talking Donald Rumsfeld, who's every word in public is scrutinized & dissected.
Until someone can point to some other verbatim quote by Rumsfeld, made publicly that has him saying that absence of evidence "IS PROOF" of anything relating to WMD's, I maintain my assessment is highly accurate. Scott & X twisted & distorted Rumsfeld's words, then maliciously attacked & maligned him with their false attribution.
That is malicious, repugnant & arrogant. And the fact that both of them are completely unapologetic speaks volumes about their lack of character & lack of credibility. |
