Sure, fine. It is also true that such liberals as Harry Truman and Dean Acheson created NATO; that such socialists as George Orwell and Sidney Hook spoke out against totalitarianism and sided with the West; and that labor leaders like George Meany worked hard to expel Communists from the labor unions. Do we want to smear them with a broad brush?
