He would do better to promote danish-only, because that would be productively funny hah-hah, as opposed to the funny weird-racist agenda of denigrating the tongue of the indigenous, that just makes him look stupid
How much of taxes are paid by hispanos in Alta California? .... you'll need this figure to even begin making an argument for prohibition of spanish based on cost/benefit ..... the whole cost issue is a weasel-word attempt to express in code what is no longer acceptable to express in plain terms, it does not cost that much to speak to people in two languages, we are not talking here about your '12-15' european languages, we are talking only two, that of the invader and that of the indigenous, two count em (2) .... if and when five millions danes show up, let's talk about everyday use of danish, until then it would just make a fine saturday night live skit
No unilingual person has cause to call himself educated, anyway, so what is such a sort doing trying to do anything in a people related job? .... if you want to speak russian only, you're going to have a hard time dealing with the public in Copenhagen, so you should probably learn danish or go elsewhere .... some of this stuff just stands to reason, don't you think .... if estadounidenses don't like spanish, they might profitably consider invading somewhere other than an hispana province
Spanish is considered by many to be the living language closest to latin, to which all the romans tongues owe their roots, and there is considerable latin influence in english too of course, it being basically old saxon with much acquisition from old french and church latin .... any second language is highly useful, far beyond its practical benefits of use, because it opens the mind of the student to a great deal, including his own mother tongue ... for an english speaker to fail to study at least one romans language and at least a bit of another nordgermanische tongue, is to lose an opportunity at a grasp of english, along with considerable other knowledge and perspective
Were i ministre of education anywhere, i would make mandatory in the school curriculum a minimum of two (2) languages .... were i m.o.e. in Alta California, i would make compulsory one of either english or spanish, and leave the second to the option of the student .... this only makes sense, it's a practical thing of educating the children, and this is rightly the affair of an education department ... also i would do what i could to provide ESL and ECIS ['english as second language', 'español como idioma segundo'] for adult education, quite a number of other languages as well, these are programmes highly useful to society ..... but no way ever, could i do anything but oppose a law designed to suppress anybody's language, much less one spoken for centuries by a large slice of the population, and you and your candidate have left your morals way behind somewhere if you can support such a thing of hatred |
