I believe it is a reflection that people feel no safer from terrorism today than right after 9/11. The fact that we are no pursuing Al Qaeda as our top priority, and instead being bogged in a quagmire in Iraq, has people wondering what happened to bin Ladin and AQ. They've had plenty of time to rest and reload.

And Bush using the war as a means of bolstering his election (and hiding the economic meltdown) has further made people jittery. In fact, it is no surprise that people reacted that way.

Are we safer than before? The people don't seem to think so.
