people are likely to prefer a repeal of the unequal Prop 13 subsidies to a large increase in income taxes

isn't CA already near the top of the list in state income and sales taxes? where else can they go but to raise property tax. unfortunately, many selfish beneficiaries of Prop 13 may oppose this. on the other end of the spectrum, i wonder how many years before Texas has a state income tax. not many, i suppose. the legislature recently tried to impose an excise tax on professional services.
