Because, the people who own the energy companies shares are part of the same immoral classist elite as the people who run them. Long and short, they don't give a rats ass about anyone else, as long as that divend check rolls in every quarter.

Mankind at his/her core is an immoral creature that will rob, cheat, manipulate and even kill to ensure his/her comfort and well being. Street crime is just the most obvious manifestation of this sad part of human nature. Government and business coruption are much bigger and less obvious forms of this same human flaw.

That's why it's important, if you are one of the few moral and principled people in the world, to become active in your community, to vote, to try to make a difference and to try to educate about the wrongs in the world (as we are doing on this thread). Because, lord knows, the moral people are way outnumbered by the people who don't give a $hit about anyone but themselves.
