I accomplished my objective on GPM, which was to make it be known that people tending to take the negative side on gold price where actually in cahoots with traders who were doing this on purpose in the LBMA. Countering their propaganda by bashing continually made a foil that was effective in showing the wrongness of their opinion and the necessity of a better gold price. The two tier system of selling forward and the raw metal price was eventually going to collapse just like the options market that supported it, because it made the life of the producers untenable after a while. I think I convinced the major player in this game, Barrick, to back off on their options hedging and this relieved the market enough for the gold price recovery. Having accomplished this objective, and feeling assure that gold is headed to 400 if not 450, finally, then we can move on to the next pressing objective; which is Kyoto and the industrial base of North America. (rapidly eroding). Clinton, for all his brains never used his hands for more than stroking his dick, so he just did not understand. With the latest blackout, we can see the wrongness in their thinking. My father warned the US in 1960. Keep up with the way you switch circuits, and the low amount of system latency and spare capacity and you are headed for a large scale failure. At the time ONT Hydro operated with 30% spare generation, and large capacity shunted switching on transmission. Any gas, water or nuke could come on line with 25% more power within 1/2 hour. This allowed hunting to stay ahead of load. You could operate in the capacitive area of transmission, instead of the inductive. Overvoltage was your only danger. Line capacity was generous. We sold power to the states 90% of the time.
Today it is reversed. We buy power from a weak system that is getting weaker because it operates at 89% capacity. At peak it is a rubber band stretched a mile. Any overload and the whole thing goes down like popcorn popping when the heat gets right.
Why did the black out happen? Because Ontario was undergenerated. We killed the Hearne, the most efficient steam power plant in North America. 2 gigawatts of reliable power. Co-incidentally, exactly what we now HAVE to buy every hour from the US, which costs us by the way, 200,000 dollars an hour. 1.7 billion per year. That is right. Harris' decision to kill the Hearne costs Ontario, almost 2 billion per year. Because "coal is dirty". So is shit, but I never heard Harris' mother complain.
So we are sucking all this power from the US, and when it gets hot in Canada, what happens? Everybody has air conditioning these days, and ceiling fans; so crank it to the max. So Mohawk power gen slowly burns up at peak load. This goes kablooies and the resulting strain puts all Penn State and New York power at a screaming brown out. Then they all start to burn generators. Gotta shut down before it heats up so they all go out one by one. Transformers burning from one coast to the next. Now all that generating capacity in Ontario has nowhere to go, so what do they have to do with the large fixed steamers? Shutdown. And it takes 4 days to start back up. So they CANNOT restart at all, as the load is exceeded by their quick restart capacity. There you have it. Too much large steam against too little water and diesel, and too close to capacity for the whole shooting match. And why? Because ONTARIO is drawing WAY TOO MUCH for what it generates. Why? because coal is dirty. And we don't need co-gen. And the rivers of James Bay are too nice for water power.
Why are the Frogs sitting pretty with water power in Quebec and they cannot get it to Ontario for "technical reasons". The technical reason is partly the frogs built it that way to send power to the better buyer, New York state, not Ontario. They built James Bay with English money to sell French power to the US, and wired it so overload capacity could not be shunted to Ontario if they needed it. That is why New York got power back on 3 days before Toronto. James Bay water. One of the other technical reasons is it would cost us 25 cents a kilowatt times 25,000,000 kilowatts. You got it. Technical reason one. 6 million dollars an hour for about a day and thank you very much we will soldier on. No use selling Ontario to Quebec for the sake of a few pounds of frozen hamburger. (Yes, that is how it works. You pay through the nose for emergency power. Each utility has squads of engineers who do that all day long, buy or sell power according to the utility's load, its surplus or deficit and who has the best rates on the grid. You don't want to be short a gigawatt and be asking some grinning fool who has spare water power, which he gets for free, what the cost is. 3 cents a klikowatto? Don't be goofy. How about a quarter dollar?, for, say, how long do you need it? Oh ten hours, oh dear its, peak time, my my, can we say 30 cents? don't need it that bad, can you spell brown out? Can you spell lawsuits? Hell ok, but just for ten hours, etc.. we will pass it on to our customers.) So go figure -- we have been buying emergency power from the States for ONE YEAR. We are not told how much that costs, are we? But in the summer some people with inductive loads who got bills of 18 cents a kilowatt must have wondered.
KYOTO HAS TO DIE. IT IS RUSE INVENTED BY TRADE COMPETITORS TO KILL OUR INDUSTRY IN ORDER THAT WE BUY ASIAN AND EUROPEAN. IT WILL KILL OUR MINE, MILLS, MANUFACTURING, AND FARMS.
I think Clinton is secret communist spy. He was up in Canada shagging the inheritor of the Magna auto parts fortune, Belinda Stronach. She has been convinced since she is a chick, to take Magna, an auto parts giant, to go into gambling dens in the states. This is the biggest blow job since they got Campeau to buy Federated Department stores in the States. Masterful stroke. Worst of them all was the ruse the Yankees did to our conservative brain trust; to go free trade. Free is it? With countervailing tariffs if you don't like it. |
