I mostly trade ETFs, like the MDY SPY or QQQ..
I even have a small position in the FEF ( it's sort of locked off )
Early July I bought some cheap puts on her @ sept30, and when she dropped
I just bought her.
-----
I have been in and out of RSIFX twice this year...any more I'm just staying in her
and when she gets to high I buy some qqq puts.
-----
I don't buy the puts so much to make money as to protect my long side.
----
MDY is an easy trade if any one can even half ass time the market..
she's not a fast runner but a safer bet, and protecting capital
is more important than making a big hit.
----
With the spiders you can short ( no down tick rule ) so it's OK to
box them ( your broker will like you if you BOX em as he makes
the short term rate on the escrow )
The advantage of the BOX is speed in getting short..the disadvantage
is you don't make MM rates on your long side.
Jim
PS
I also use about half my spare cash to play this system..
when I'm in and have time to check it.
