del - thanks for the information on methionine. my father has recently
begun taking folic acid for intestinal troubles(that's the polite way to
say it, isn't it?). a friend suggested he try it, and for two weeks he
has not a day when he say in his recliner, feeling awful and exhausted.
it's certainly too soon to tell, but this is longest he's gone without a
bad day in a few years. he's had upteen tests and several rounds of
flagel, all to no avail. it will be very exciting if this even helps,
much less clears up the problem. you mentioned that folic acid should
be taken along with methionine for the purposes you are describing.
i was wondering if you knew if it worked the other way around. if you're
taking folic acid for intestinal problems, would it be best to take
methionine also? no doctor of his has ever mentioned folic acid, so i don't
think i'll ask them.(g)

thanks,
janet p
