JDN: do you watch a lot of FOX? Listen to a lot of talk radio? You seem reasonable, and I can't for the life of me understand how you could come to such a conclusion.

If we were to pursue that line of logic (treason being helping our enemies), then we'd have to do the following:

1) Name our main enemies, as defined by the current administration (Saddam and Al Qaeda).

2) Identify these enemies main source of training and weapons (The US).

3) Identify the administrations that gave these enemies their training and weapons (Reagan and Bush 41).

However, I won't take that line of reasoning, because I think you need to identify not just the results but the intention. I do not believe that Reagan or Bush 41 intended to arm and aid these ruthless enemies of the US. They were dead wrong, but did not intend to betray, and therefore were not traitors.

Just because someone in a place of responsibility makes a bad decision, even if it results in tragedy, does not make them a traitor. Otherwise, there would be many more traitors in our history (in WWII, we'd have to include Kimmel, MacArthur, and Eisenhower for their responsibilities at Pearl Harbor, the Phillipines, and Kasserine Pass, respectively). [note - Kimmel actually was charged by FDR, and only recently exhonerated].

To disagree with their actions is, of course, perfectly acceptable - I disagree with a lot of the Bush administrations decisions. Does that make them traitors? Certainly not.
