Harry,

I think people are getting worried for no reason. All of this
Microsoft-Apple hype is really absurd. Nothing fundamentally
about Apple has changed in the last day. It's still a company
with serious problems including the lack of a corporate vision,
that won't be profitable for quite a while.

As for Microsoft's stake in Apple, it represents less than 2% of
Microsoft's $9 billion in cash. It was a token investment to
have the IE browser implanted into the MacOS. As far as them
supporting office applications, Microsoft had no plans to stop
supporting Macs, not with the large client base it provides.

Sun is not missing the ball here. The day Sun aligned with Apple
would be the day I sold my position. People need to understand
there is room in this world for both WinTel and Sun, and Sun
can do it without the help of IBM, Apple, Netscape, et al.
