These library of congress country studies can be quite good, especially for overall background, getting the whole situation in perspective - lcweb2.loc.gov

Here's the whole list - memory.loc.gov .... i've been surprised at how objective they can be, there was something once in the one on Nicaragua that impressed me, it was at least a partial effort to give the straight goods .... they're not that comprehensive but then they're not meant to be, they're overviews ... is there anything in their recent history of Lebanon or Hezbollah that strikes you as inaccurate? .... they only have Lebanon updated to 1987, but seem to cover the civil war period well ... [?]
