China trade with ASEAN rises 45% in one year
The value of trade between China and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations hit $34.24 billion in the first half of 2003, up 45.3 percent from the same period last year, Beijing said Monday.


ASEAN exports to China grew 55.5 percent to almost $20.5 billion while China exports to ASEAN nations grew 32.4 percent to nearly $13.8 billion, The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said.

In the first six months of 2003 ASEAN members including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines invested $2.82 billion in 982 projects in China, the Peoples Daily said Monday.
