Economic forecast: Beijing will grow faster than China China's economy is projected to grow about 7 percent this year. But a new forecast calls for 9 percent growth in the Beijing area, maybe more. The Beijing Statistical Bureau said growth around the capital of the People's Republic could even hit 10 percent.
