That's like the DMV here, as i posted above you can get the learner's permit in four languages [could be five or more now, with spanish included, we went through it about six years ago] ..... however you do not get the full driving license without knowledge of english sufficient to make you a safe informed driver, which only makes sense, as road safety is the prime consideration of the DMV, driving is a privilege not a right, as they keep telling us ... same would logically apply in California where the signs are also in english [and where, by the way, there is to my knowledge a complete lack of whacko political movements to make them Castellano Solamente]

On a related matter, there is one area where it makes sense to use English Only, and that's in aviation .... air traffic control the world over is in english, with one exception, Québec .... even though the french french do it in english, ahem [actually the quebecois have changed this now, but they made french ATC part of their law, believe it or not] .... but if you fly a plane to México or China, you will be spoken to in english, it's an international convention, it works, it saves lives, nothing wrong with that

'if you don't believe that we should be a multilingual country you must be too stupid to hold a high ranking job.

First, we're not talking multi-lingual, we're talking bilingual, there are two (2) principal tongues in Alta California, there is spanish and recently there has come english, over the last hundred fifty-five years

California is now, today, bilingual country .... this is not a maybe thing, or a future thing, this is reality today .... no person spouting this English Only programme is fit for public office, be it because they are too stupid, because they are too racist, because they are too thoughtless to have considered the matter, whatever, they are simply unfit for office, punto ..... of course in the case of the latter, those who have yet to think it out, maybe they could try doing so, and thereby make themselves fit ... we shall see

There are two ways to achieve unilingualism in California -
1. resume the genocide and robbery of the indigenous
2. convince all the anglos to go back where they belong

Which would you suggest?
