The great thing (and the bad thing) about technology is that over and over it has proven that it is difficult to impossible to predict where it will go next. The only thing you can count on is that technological advancement will continue marching over all the end of technology naysayers.

I'm rereading the "Great Reckoning" and it's funny how so many of the things that the authors thought would happen in the 1990s happened AND how little most of them mattered. The things that made us so prosperous in that decade were things they couldn't and didn't predict.
