It looks to me that it could be a bigger source for the commuting public. From where to where? Manhattan to Staten Island and then what? Queens, Bronx, LI...how do you service these boroughs by ferry? NYC is surrounded by water. Check out a map of NYC: I lived there for a number of years...they are not practical...there are hordes of people that descend on Manhattan daily and even that is a fraction of the commuting that takes place within the 5 boroughs and outlying areas. Ferries are too slow and you have to have a second method of commuting from where they drop you off. Al
