You are no good rabbi...wrong answer.
The letter Alef is open to all 4 directions hence enables u to "inbvestigate" into the past as well...on the other hand the letter Beit is open only to one direction...not enabling u to look anywhere but forwards and this is the idea.
Religious jews are not allowed to ask too many questions about the past,the creation etc,may lead to doubts in God.
