Found some articles on Assisted Living facilities and companies. They got pushed in Barron's in early in year. Robert Farrell (ML) said they would be the next big thing in medical care much like HMOs in 80's. Cooper's & Lybrand's article estimated growth by end of decade in number of nursing beds to double from 1.6M beds to 3.2M beds. That's less than 3 years. The market for assisted living facilities to grow from 12B to 20B, 67% in 2+ years. The largest pure-play, ALI, owns just 1% of the market. Nursing home operators, rehab centers, and adult day care operators are also in the market. Group relative strength rank of nursing homes IBD industry group is 95.
