USPL- This undoubtedly will hurt the stock but may also provide some buying opportunity. There will be more news in the paper tomorrow but so far, other than the story below, I have also heard rumor that the plant is shutdown at this time by the Fire Marshal. More info tomorrow. My dad lives in Ocala so I have asked him to update me with any news regard the company also.

OCALA -- A machine used to make wood products exploded at US Plastics Lumber Monday morning, killing one person and injuring another.
Wendell Rora, information officer for Ocala Fire-Rescue, said employees working at the city's complex, just east of the company, reported hearing vibrations against the windows and seeing a fireball shoot into the sky.
When firefighters arrived at 1909 N.E. 25th Ave., shortly after 8:30 a.m. fire and heavy smoke were pouring from the building. The fire was contained to the wood area and reported to be non-toxic.
Employees at the company were evacuated and the two men were transported to Munroe Regional Medical Center, where Scott Stokes, 34, died shortly after arrival. Michael Day, 26, was treated for smoke inhalation. He was listed in stable condition. |
