Buddy, that quote is from the Libertarian Party, if it were up to them they would ABOLISH Medicare entirely. Frankly, from everything I have ever heard Medicare is one of the most successful Govt programs ever instituted. If it were up to me, I would EXPAND it to anyone interested in joining, the only difference being those under 65 would pay the full premium whereas those 65 and over get the subsidized figure. Medical care IMHO is one area where BIG GOVT makes sense as the larger the POOL of insureds the lower the cost per individual. jdn
