I lost my power for five days in an ice storm about four years ago. It was freezing and we couldn't go to a hotel, it was the week of Super Bowl and all the rooms were full.

I had had an operation two days before this happened and I of course was sent home, with no electricity...I'm sure no one in the this outage had to suffer what we did.

My point is, this happens..
