yes, that is correct...also, my understanding is that one cannot hold US cash in an RRSP, meaning that if you have a US stock (it would be a gold stock of course -g-) and you sell it, the transaction has to be done in canuck dollars. And, i'm pretty sure that if you sell US stock A and buy US stock B, you are subject to a loss on the exchange, even if the trades are done simultaneously...

(maybe we should be buying bank stocks given this kind of sweet biz ? -ng-)
