To me it would be irrational for shiites to support saddamites and fedayeen terrorists. Look we both agree they dont want to be occupied for a long period of time. The best way to shorten the stay is to help the US clean up this mess. I dont see why shiites, kurds and sensible sunnis cant strike that deal among themselves and with the US. Support US> short stay> political control. My impression is that a majority of all three groups want to keep iraq intact and not impose rule on the other two groups. Some democracy, some local control, some federalism, a new national military and police force and a flexible US policy toward them will work wonders. Right now its time to take down the terrorists now at work before iraq becomes palestine #2. And it would be nice if the UN reacted as they should to this awful attack. mike
