Clinton had an affair, which was wrong. But, if you fired every politician that had an affair, then Washington would be pretty empty. As far as the company policy, well, that's a non sequitar, because the US government does not have that rule.
So, the lying is the Big Sin of Clinton. Lying about having an affair. Nothing to do with Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, and any other -gates that Starr tried to find dirt on.
I wonder how many other Presidents would have survived such a microscope unscathed. I wonder if that microscope were placed over the Bush administration, how many real offenses would be found. Not offenses of a personal nature, that hurt no one, but ones that affected the country. Like taking us to war. Or robbing billions from California taxpayers for political spite. Or who knew what before 9/11. Or what Dick Cheney whispered to the energy bandits and now refuses to talk about it.
If the Bush administration is so much 'cleaner' than Clinton, then why are they routinely called one of the most secretive administrations in memory? By their own party members? Think maybe they say what happened to Clinton, and his one lie, and are quaking in their boots when they hear the following phrase:
