A senior western counter-terrorism official on Monday said the presence of foreign fighters in Iraq was "extremely worrying". It does kind of complicate matters. However, we know that they exist all over the world as an underground force. If we can get them to come and face us now, it is better than letting them fester and grow in remote caves and jungles. The only thing that worries me is the following they might generate if they are seen as as martyrs to the third world.
