For the local Solon-expert on consensus-mechanisms, democracy, constitution in Afghanistan

video.c-span.org:8080/ramgen/archive/ter/ter081503_radiofree.rm

RFE/RL Analyst Amin Tarzi on New Afghan Constitution
Regional Analyst Amin Tarzi, of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, speaks on "Afghanistan's New
Constitution: Towards Consolidation or Fragmentation?"
8/15/2003: WASHINGTON, DC: 1 hr. 20 min.

---

Amin Tarzi seems fairly realistic, knowledgable, but why does he

- complain that the proposal(s) for a constitution is not made public
- claim that it is a really difficult issue
- wants Afghanistan to concentrate on the upcomong elections, not on the constitution, thinks it should be delayed
- claims that "true democracy" is nothing he wants, those-them "conservatives" would win
- quotes the earlier constitutions, but stops short of any actual personal thoughts

PS Yo know-nuttings, please do not bother, clearly too difficult

PPS, what about those examples of consensus-mechanisms in USA, not that anyone, even
in USA, dreams of a two-party system anywhere but in USA.
