Hi Neocon; Re: "For the rest, even now, Poland is getting set to take over security for a third of Iraq."
This is another administration fantasy. Today's bombing of the UN building, along with the death of the Danish soldier a few days ago, indicates that the forces arrayed against us in Iraq will not leave foreign troops unscathed.
Foreign governments, having no vital interest in Iraq, will either pull their troops out, or (more likely), fail to replace them when their rotations are up. This is just like what went on in Nam.
As long as the doing is good, and we give the Poles $240 million bucks, they'll send troops. But these are fair weather friends.
Note that the 1/3 of Iraq that Poland was going to take over was a part that was expected to not give much problems. As usual, the US leads point. As chaos continues, and grows in the regions where the Poles are supposedly peace-keeping, they'll abandon us.
