He used to write for Bill Moyers' American Prospect magazine.

Hmm, first I've never associated Bill Moyers with the American Prospect. Here's some info on it.

The American Prospect was launched in 1990 by Paul Starr, Robert Kuttner and Robert B. Reich. The Prospect is available on newsstands, by subscription and online. It is published by The American Prospect Inc., an independent nonprofit organization established by the magazine's founders. We are also proud to host and produce Moving Ideas, an online consortium of more than 125 progressive policy organizations.

That was taken from their website at prospect.org.

As I look through the list of contributors, editors, and whatnots, I don't find Moyers' name.

As for Marshall's politics, I'm simply talking about his own self placement comments on his website and my placement of him given those comments. He is, for instance, a Pollack kind of guy when it comes to Iraq.

As for leftie magazines, looks to me, at least tentatively, that the Washington Monthly has better left credentials than the American Prospect. And Marshall is a regular contributor there. But it also draws from DLC types as well.
