Gideon Rose is right on the money. Many have been saying exactly what he says from week one after the war ended. The money needed to jump start Iraq is a trifle compared to the deficits Bush is running. $5 billion will get every willing able bodied Iraqi a job for more than a year to jump start the economy and get everybody off the streets. That's a little more than what we spend on the army over there every month. The only explanation I have of why the administration is not doing it, is a severe case of ideological arteriosclerosis. I wish the Democrats were in charge of Iraqi reconstruction.
