I don't think a three year old is sophisticted enough to rationalize or discuss how to deal with a cheater. As has often been noted here, children tend to have a pretty clear idea in certain situations what is and isn't okay. But at young ages, they don't have sophisicated ways of dealing with them. And sometimes, IMO, it's better just to let the kids work things out than have parents perpetually butting in and trying to make adult lessons out of everything. Children understand each other.
