Well, Karen, here's a State's Rights issue that has nothing to do with the code words you've assigned to the States Rights issues in the past. It's very much a state-vs-fed conflict. The opponents, as I understand it, didn't even seek a state court order. They went straight to the federal government. It is a more complex issue, I think, than people here admit to. Is the state "establishing" a religion by this monyment? They aren't demanding that people obey the commandments. They aren't even demanding that people read them. It's an inert chunk of art in a public place. Does that constitute establishing religion to an extent to override the 9th and 10th amendments? These, to me, important issues are getting overridden by the shrill venom on both sides that is bringing far more heat than light to the issue.
