The outsourcing/offshoring problem is bigger than that. An engineer in India will be able to work for 1/8th of what companies pay in California. Now, even in your favorite state of Texas with its zero taxes and high pollution (not to mention the ****ing heat), it cannot be that low. The same is true of manufacturing jobs that are gone now. However low your wages are, you can't possibly beat someone in China who is willing to work for an entire day for a bowl of rice.
