'The most infamous killing in UN history was that of Count Folke Bernadotte who was shot by Israeli extremists in Jerusalem in 1948 .... Bernadotte was UN Mediator in Palestine and had angered the Jewish underground by recommending that Jerusalem become an international city.'

That is still the best idea for Jerusalem, that it be administered by a body of wider representation than that of any one of the three principal religions who claim it as 'holy' and keep sacrificing blood to its dishonour .... if the UN could become a functioning parliament of democracies, then it might do less poorly than any other organisation at pacifying the place ..... might be wise though, to make sure all personnel involved swear disallegiance to all known nutcase cults, and make them recite the agnostic catechism three times a day, at least
